Opening Reception – Thursday, November 9 5:30PM – 7:00PM
“Exposure to the Elements,” a captivating two-person exhibition of abstract photography will be featured at the Kress Pavilion in Egg Harbor, WI. The show unveils the distinctive works of Emily Roedl and Dan Cross. This exhibition delves into the beauty of transformation in unexpected and visually stunning ways. There will be an opening reception for the exhibit Thursday, November 9th from 5:30-7:00pm.
Emily Roedl’s collection invites you to immerse yourself in the vibrant world of reflective water surfaces. Through her lens, water becomes a canvas that captures a kaleidoscope of colors. Roedl’s work is a dance between reality and abstraction, as she skillfully captures the fleeting moments when light and water collide, creating mesmerizing patterns and textures of the ever-changing nature of water.
In contrast, Dan Cross is showcasing his “Dockside Series” an acute vision of the surface textures of the varied docks of Door County, WI. He finds beauty in the aging process, where time and the elements collaborate to create intricate patterns and textures on once pristine surfaces. Cross was recently a featured photographer at The Hardy Gallery in Ephraim, WI where he unveiled large scale images of his dockside series. At the Kress, his images will be smaller in scale telling a story of resilience and transformation.
“Exposure to the Elements” is a harmonious dialogue between two visionaries, Roedl’s vibrant water reflections and Cross’s textured surface abstractions. The exhibit will be on display through February 2024.
