In the Summer of 2021, the Village hired Eland Electric to install a solar array on the south end of the property.
The array features bi facial panels that generate power from both sides to make use of the reflection of the snow in the winter. Staff was trained on how to tilt the panels on the seasonal equinox for maximum power generation. The array is estimated to cut the Kress power bill by 20% and was partially funded by grants from Solar for Good and Focus on Energy.
