A room for hands-on projects, the Maker Space is a collaborative work space for making, learning, exploring and sharing that uses high tech to no tech tool. With modular tables and seating for up to 10, the room features a sink and a 50” flat screen TV with current tele-conferencing capabilities.  Equipment is free to use, however there may be additional costs for supplies.

December: Fused Glass*

January: Fused Glass*

Open fused glass studio is available all month long.  Come be creative or choose one of our projects.  We are using special glass, so come early in the month before the glass runs out.

February: Mug Press

Use the Cricuit Mug Press to create your own Valentine’s mug or create your own design with sublimation vinyl.

March: Alcohol Ink

Create a beautiful work of art using alcohol inks, tiles or silks! Materials provided.  Dress for a mess, alcohol inks permanently stain!!

April: Textiles

Learn fiber art techniques with the help of simple instructions.  There will be several projects to choose from: weaving using our loom, embroidering a bandana, rug hooking and fabric baskets.

May: Fused Glass Flowers*

Create fused glass flowers using the slumping molds,  Cutting glass is needed for this project.  Projects need to be fired twice, so all flowers will be ready the first week of June.

June: Button Making

The Maker Space offers equipment and supplies for the creation of 1.25″ and 2.25″ round pinback buttons! Punch cutters, button presses and general crafting supplies will be available all month long for summer reading buttons.

July: Hat Press

Create custom summer reading or Door County hats with the Cricut Hat press.  Add logos, images, text and more using heat transfer vinyl.

August: Cricut Vinyl Appliques

Using the Cricut Maker 3, a die cutting machine, create easy vinyl designs.  We will be making summer reading decals you can put on a water bottle or tote bag.  There will also be premade decals too.

Jeanine Brennan | Maker Space Facilitator

Reading and sharing its joys are her passion. She loves learning new crafts, which is why she enjoys the Egg Harbor’s library’s MakerSpace so much. Jeanine has transitioned from her role as the Egg Harbor Library Branch Manager into the role of Maker Space Facilitator.  Jeanine plans and organizes all of the monthly activities taking place within the space.
