Dixie Jorns | Egg Harbor Branch Manager
Dixie is a Door County native, born and raised on Washington Island. After leaving the Island, she landed in Egg Harbor and has lived there since, raising four children and growing a food processing business with her husband, Steve.
Dixie’s library career started in Egg Harbor where she volunteered at the desk during the children’s story time. It was love at first check-out, and she was hired as a library substitute. Throughout her career she has worked in circulation and acquisitions and served as a Branch Manager at three sites, the first being Egg Harbor (before the Kress was built), then Sister Bay, and most recently Washington Island.
While employed by the Door County Library System, Dixie returned to school and finished a Bachelor of Arts degree at UW-Green Bay and then continued on to complete a Master of Library and Information Science degree from San Jose State University.
