Summer Wellness Series. Join us for a series of free Wellness Talks this summer, the first Tuesday of each month. Led by Keith Fisher, of Northern Door Physical Therapy & Wellness, each month we will focus on the following topics.
June 4: 2-3pm
“I’d like to walk for exercise but it hurts my….” This talk gives practical and evidence based advice and exercises to help you to keep on walking.
July 2: 2-3pm
“Are your exercises helping or hurting you?” By far, one of the most common issues that I have seen in my over 35 years as a physical therapist people doing exercises that are actually contributing to their pain syndromes. This talk covers some of the most common exercise errors and gives advice about how to correct them so that people can “Exercise Smart”.
August 6: 2-3pm “What kind of Low back pain do you have?” Recent evidence demonstrates that successful short term and long term treatment of low back pain should be classified and individualized for each person. This talk with describe the evidence based classifications of low back pain and get into what specific treatments work within each classification.
Sept 3: 2-3pm “Preventing Falls as life goes on” As we age if we don’t work at it, we lose strength, endurance and balance. Recent research shows that with specific interventions/exercises falls can be prevented.
