The Donald and Carol Kress Pavilion is a library community center located in the Village of Egg Harbor, WI. Opened in 2018, Kress Pavilion offers events space for 10 to 150 guests. The facility hosts corporate team building events, nonprofit fundraisers, hands on workshops and programs in conjunction with Door County Library. The Kress Pavilion is owned by the Village of Egg Harbor and the facility is used heavily as part of the Village’s comprehensive wellness plan. The Village prides itself in providing free and paid public programming to the community
We are hiring for one position:
1. Events Coordinator
GENERAL OVERVIEW:
The Events Coordinator supports the management of private events at the Kress Pavilion. As a part of the events team the coordinator’s primary responsibility is to manage building operations and serve as a point of contact for events. This position is primarily scheduled in the high season with up to one event shift per week, with the opportunity to work events as needed in the off-season.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Planning and Production: Provide support within the private event sales avenue, by participating in client meetings, hosting venue walk throughs and acting as the point of contact to execute on the day of events. This position involves room set up and transition. It is a physical position and requires light janitorial work.
SKILLS AND QUALITIES:
Work Habits: Self-motivated, with high capacity to multi-task and work quickly, either independently or with a team. You are deadline driven and ultra-punctual. You have excellent critical thinking skills, and understand daily, shifting priorities and how to manage a busy schedule, completing tasks on time.
Passionate: Exceptionally passionate about events
Communication: You use excellent verbal and written communication skills with clients, direct supervisors and multiple levels of staff.
Client interface: Your customer service is exemplary. You maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times
Grace Under Pressure: You are at ease in a high-pressure, fast-paced work environment. You adjust quickly to changing priorities with a positive can-do attitude. This position is not a stranger to light janitorial or table set up.
Computer Skills: Computer proficient in MS office products (Word, Excel).
REQUIREMENTS:
2 plus years in the hospitality/service industry, with a desire to learn more in the pursuit of a career in events. Must be able to lift 50 pounds, and not shy away from light janitorial, In possession of a valid driver’s license.
WORK SCHEDULE:
The Events Coordinator will be required to work at least three weekend evenings in high season for an estimated 10 hour shift each. They will manage and help to execute set up and tear down of event as well as be the point of contact for vendors and the client. In addition, they will attend at least one pre-event meeting with the client and director to ensure that all details of the day are clearly communicated.
Estimated Hours (April – October)
10 hours per week of Onsite Event Work, and 1 hour of pre-planning at $18-25/hour
(November-May)
Shifts available if demand allows.
