Tuesday, July 17 – Worm Your Way into Composting! A beginner’s intro to Vermiculture and Vermicompost
6 pm | Cost: Free
Hosted by Kress Pavilion & UW-Extension Door County
Not sure what to do with your kitchen, garden and yard scraps? Would you like natural, home-made fertilizer for your lawns and gardens in the spring? Then expand your recycling efforts to include kitchen scraps by signing up for a Vermicomposting Workshop and them into a valuable resource for your garden.
Led by UW-Extension Door County Agriculture Agent, Annie Deutsch, you will receive basic information on how to house, feed, harvest and care for worms. While they require more care than bin composting, worms produce a product (castings) that is considered an especially good soil amendment and nutrient source, and if sheltered from the cold can maintain production year-round.
