About Chair Yoga:
Chair yoga is a gentle yoga class, perfect for students with physical challenges that find it difficult to get on and off the floor as required for a traditional yoga class. Exercises explore and enhance a greater range of movement while protecting the lower back and joints by easing carefully into yoga postures with chair support.
Breath work and meditation is visited as well. This is a wonderful class for increasing circulation, movement capability, and energy enhancement. Whether you are new to yoga or a seasoned practitioner wanting to slow down for a mindful seated practice, this class provides guidance and support from a certified yoga teacher to help students enjoy exercise, enhance their health, and explore the wonderful benefits of yoga.
Mary is an RYT-200 certified yoga teacher with special training in chair yoga. An avid walker and yogi, she believes physical activity and being engaged in new experiences is key to living a full life at any age.
