Dia de los Muertos Exhibit in Egg Harbor October 30
Mi Casa Door County to Host Pop Up Day of the Dead Photography Exhibit at Kress Pavilion
In celebration of the Mexican holiday, Mi Casa Door County will exhibit 16 x 20 black and white photos shot on 3rd avenue in Sturgeon Bay and featuring La Catrina’/Lady of the death and ‘El Esqueleto’/The Skeleton, the main characters of this celebration.
Images captured and directed by Kelly Avenson with traditional Hair and Make Up by Joelle Polsin, the images feature Anthony Moncada and Gabriela Moncada owners and founders of Mi Casa DC. The show was printed by Glass Artist, Chelsea Littman and features a show narrative by Mexican Journalist Ricardo Loranca to the audience with an understandable meaning of Dia de los Muertos through our cultural history to modern times in pop culture.
The images will be on display at the Kress Pavilion Oct. 30-Nov. 12, after which time the images will be available for purchase by donation with a portion of the proceeds to benefit HELP of Door County.
