Join Gibraltar Art Teacher, Mrs. Mike for Art Club! With a number of classes to choose from, Art Club is for ages 5- 12 and is hosted in the Maker Space. Classes include: Zentangle Zoo, Far Out Fine Art, Wonderful World of Water Color, and more!
Zentangle Zoo
Use simple repetition of patterns and designs to create amazing and unique works of art! – Thursdays – June 21, July 5, July 19, August 2, August 16 1-3:00 pm
Far Out Fine Art
Space exploration will be our inspiration for creating art. Projects include: a 3D fantasy planet, outer space special effects with pastels and funny friendly aliens. – Fridays- June 22, July 6, July 20, August 3, August 17: 1-3:00 pm
Wonderful World of Watercolor
Brush, spray, dab, splatter, pour, drip, there is no end to how to use watercolors. Students will learn about two famous Henries: Henri Matisse and Henri Rousseau whose art was truly WILD!!
– Thursdays- June 28, July 12, July 26, August 9, August 23: 1-3:00 pm
Wacky World Tour
Students will travel to Panama to make a paper Molas, to Burkina Faso to make a Spirit Mask and the plains of the desert southwest to make a mini rain stick. – Fridays – June 29, July 13, July 27, August 10, August 24: 1-3:00 pm
Guided Art Studio
Students can choose what materials to use and what subject matter to make with help and guidance from Mrs. Mike! Learn something brand new or improve upon an old favorite. You can choose your own adventure!
– Saturdays- 12:00 – 2:00 pm all summer! (no class August 4 or 11th)
About Mrs. Mike:
A Middle School Art teacher for the Gibraltar Area School District in Fish Creek, Mrs. Mike has Bachelor Degrees in both Studio Art and Art History. She designs her classes around: student interest and input, exciting collaborations with science, literature, math, history with a combination of traditional and contemporary techniques.
